Summary | 0009008: Tempo and location markers in wrong place in Ardour 6 session imported to Ardour 7 | ||||
Description | I’ve opened an A6 session in A7. It has lots of time signature and tempo markers. A lot of the location markers are not in quite the right place and the same with many of the tempo markers and many of the tempo ramps haven’t been honoured, all of which has thrown the MIDI track out relative to the audio material. Also, in A6, at a certain zoom level the ruler should show the bar number of every bar. In A7 it does this for some sections, but other sections it is only showing the bar numbers for alternate bars. It also only shows odd-numbered beats in some bars, but even-numbered beats in the following bar. When zooming in further, instead of the previously-unlabelled beats becoming numbered, each showed 960 (I think, the font is tiny). Tempo markers can only be moved to every other beat, so 1, 3, 5, 7 in one bar and 2, 4, 6 of the following bar. I can confirm that this issue isn't isolated to sessions created in Ardour 6, which are subsequently opened in Ardour 7. I have created a session in Ardour 7 and I can only move tempo markers to beats 1, 3, 5 and 7 of a bar of 7/8 or beats 2, 4, 6 of the subsequent bar. It seems to be only letting me move markers to every other 8th note, ignoring the ones in-between. The Snap was turned on and even when set to 16th notes, I could only move markers to every other 8th note. However, I've just discovered that with the Snap turned off, I can move tempo markers to any beat. The tempo markers all show as whatever bpm/4 -- with Snap on, is it limiting the range of movement to quarter notes somehow (every other 8th note)? |

Sorry, scratch the second half of the previous note, I don't know what was going on. The first half still stands: this behaviour happens in sessions created in A7 as well as ones imported into it. In all cases tempo change markers can only be moved to every other 8th note. |
