Summary | 0008293: Ctrl-F follow mode does not follow playhead
Description | When ctrl-F is toggled, the follow playhead is enabled, and the viewport of tracks follows the playhead position by scrolling or paging to the next set of events as the playhead moves. Ctrl-F and toggling follow in the menu does not enable this behaviour. The page view of the tracks do not follow the playhead. It did work in the beginning but after a long session, this does not work. To reenable, hit ctrl-f in the summary view at the bottom of the page to unset follow playhead, and ctrl-f again to start follow playhead. The page view will page to where the playhead is. After which, once the playhead is past the extent of the view, the page does not follow the playhead. So the user must once again unset and reset the playhead toggle

I have the same problem. I'm on a Raspberry Pi 400. I tried with the default ardour 7 and with the latest Ardour 8.6. The follow playhead setting seems to randomly work sometimes. But most of the times, it does not and it has to by reactivated either with the menu or with the keyboard, as reported by @muzikermammoth . Is there aything I can do to help figure out the problem? |
