Summary0007938: LinVST plugin parameter displays numeric value instead of friendly name (Carla vs Ardour generic plugin gui)
DescriptionIn Carla Airwindows linVSTs seems to show friendly parameters where they applies but same linVST in Ardour 5.12 does only show a numeric value.
The reason for the ticket is to make sure this is considered before 6.0 is released unless it is already fixed.

Steps To ReproduceOpen airwindows busscolor4 generic gui from both Carla and Ardour and note the top parameter.

in Ardour, value between 0.000 and 1.000

In Carla, Dark, Rock, Lush,Vibe, Holo, Punch, Steel and Tube
(Representing different Mixing Console characteristics like API, SSL and so on)

Carla also seems to "understand and represent" the value in dB including unit

Ardour 6 has displayed this for a while already, not the unit label though. I'll see if that can be added.

6.0-pre0-3765-geeb2e99a3b now displays the unit label of VST parameters, too

tested in rev 6.0-pre1-92-g1439610f95 and both Friendly Value and unit label works as expected.
