Summary | 0006225: Option to hide the sidebar in the mixer window
Description | In Ardour 3.5.403 you could fully hide the the sidebar in the mixer window by dragging it to the left. I think this was a very good feature. In ardour nightly (3.5.4949) it is not possible to fully hide the sidebar. It can only be dragged up to the longest track or group name. Especially if you have long track names the sidebar takes up unnecessary much space

Also, another problem is that even when you rename a track to a shorter name, or even delete that track, the width of the sidebar can't be made smaller than it was before adding the lengthy track name. It is stuck at that width until you restart your session. Of course you should keep track names short but this can happen if you are importing audio files with long names. |

I've addressed your second problem in fbceec6 The issue of majing it hide completely is (i think) due to the headers being visible on the top. It's probably a little late in the release cycle to add a hide button. Thanks for the report. |
