Summary | 0005957: MIDI files lost at unknown time
Description | Version was: Ardour 3.5.380 (built from revision 3.5-380-g2f6065b) After several (many) crashes, and attempts to clean up a project using "Remove unused" and "Clean up", one of my MIDI tracks had lost its content. It was also gone from sessions that I saved previously with other names (which I did to be safe!). I realise that this is not enough information to meaningfully debug the problem, but at least you are now aware that this version still has data loss issues and you are able to warn users that they should back up very frequently (I would say at least once per hour, depending on how fast you produce data that you are afraid to lose). I have been working intensively with MIDI in Ardour for a few days now, and I must have experienced 30+ crashes (see my other reports). Now I have lost some of my data that I can't get back, even though I tried to save several copies. I tried to remember how the track went and record it again, but while doing that, Ardour crashed again. And again. There must be something special about my installation or my circumstances, because I have the impression that other people out there use Ardour with some success. I honestly don't see how I could ever accomplish anything with it in its current state.

This should have been "Severity: Major", but now I can't change it. |

Got the same problem, audio files removed too. I started it from a terminal, so I have a partial output: http://pastebin.com/gn1qm5rc I also have used "Remove unused regions" (and renamed the project using "save as") |
