Summary0005564: Cannot open h264 .mov files unless transcoded to the three lowest scaling settings
DescriptionSet reproducibility to "sometimes" because it only happens to h264 .mov and mp4 files I tried (3 or 4 files i tried at all scaling settings)

File 1 -"fps 25
codec : h264 [H.264/AVC/MPEG-4 AVC/MPEG-4 part 10] (avc1) Geometry 1920x1080"

I send attached a txt with stdout output for 2 files - it sits there at last line, no video is imported. It does transcode the file which can be opened and viewed with vlc but not by Ardour.




Additional InformationI'm using last Ardour downloadable install from this web site.
Xubuntu 13.04 (installed from unity not a fresh install)
Jack installed and working
2x Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5500 @ 1.66GHz
Memory 2055MB
HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
USB-Audio - MobilePre

Please help me provide more valid debug info...not sure what to do

I still cannot reproduce the problem.

Could you please retry with Ardour-3.3: Some minor details have changed there: new ffmpeg build, and A3 now imports to avi/mjpeg instead of avi/mpeg4.

Installed Ardour-3.3 and tried to open the same video. Got the same result

Output hangs at the last line, this happened with a different file with same codec and almost same resolution (large files) exported from a different mac/pc
