ardour is probably not the issue. try

sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-pixbuf

this worked for me.

Hansfbaier, thanks for your answer. I checked and gtk2-engines-pixbuf is already installed in my system(AV-linux 5.03) and is the newer version. Sadly did not resolve the issue
