I'm also a user of Debian stable (with some packages from testing installed) and can record without problems. You probably need to me more specific about what exactly happens when you want to record. Any messages from jack or Ardour when you start them from the console? The jack version would also be interesting. |

Have you used any other versions of Ardour? Do you get regions appearing on the tracks that you are recording onto? |

Ardour 2 to used to work all right since version 3 does no regions or audiofiles appear. |

This issue seems to be connected to an old version of jack. I upgraded jackd to 1.9.9 from the git repository and it solved the problem. |
