Summary0003723: ogg import distorts
Descriptionhello!

importing ogg-files to ardour gives distorted signals for me, while converting the oggfile to wav first and importing them to ardour afterwards works as expected.

*) create an ogg testfile - eg. sox -r 44100 -b 16 -n sine.wav synth 3 sine 440; oggenc sine.wav
*) import it to ardour directly
      -> sounds distorted
*) convert it - oggdec -o decoded.wav sine.ogg
*) import decoded.wav file into ardour
      -> sounds ok
Additional Informationmy software:

*) debian unstable system
*) ardourvst 2.8.11 (rev 8520 from svn) compiled with LIBLO=1 AUBIO=1 FREESOUND=1 SURFACES=1 FPU_OPTIMIZATION=1 AUBIO=1 WIIMOTE=1 FFT_ANALYSIS=1 TRANZPORT=1 SLV2=1 VST=1
*) libogg0 1.2.0~dfsg-1

I believe this was fixed in A3 in revisions 6879 and 7095.

What Audio File Format (in the Options menu) are you using?

just tried: the distortion appears, when i use WAVE 24bit or 16bit, but the import works ok when i use 32bit float as audio file format
i get the same behavior in ardour3vst (Ardour 3.0pre0 Revision 8520)

OK, thanks for testing. This should now be fixed properly in A3, at least.
