Summary0002507: Ardour uses 18% of CPU while idle
DescriptionWhen I start up ardour, after loading a session and doing nothing more than that, ardour uses 17-22% of one of my CPUs. This is pretty unusual for me.

One session load is 18%. A different session is 9%, and another 0%. I've uploaded the .ardour file from the 18% session. The "Additional Information" has the stdout/stderr from the output of ardour for the sessions at the three differing load levels.

I'm using "Multiband EQ", "SC1", "Gate", "GVerb", and a bypassed
"(Fast Lookahead Limiter)". The limiter is the only plugin that I
don't routinely use on other sessions, which BTW don't have the CPU
load issue. I removed the unused limiter plugin, saved & restarted
ardour, still no change.

I just selected to turn off the plugins when transport stopped. No
change. Saved & restarted ardour, still no change. Nice idea though.

Do you see any difference when trying the various choices under Options > Performance > Denormal handling?
