| Description | Jack implements ports aliases. This feature makes backend port names to be replaced by standards names of the type system:(playback|capture)_N. This allows ardour sessions to be hardware independent. The original backend names are saved as aliases. Those names are usually more explicit, so it could be a good thing if we should use them in ardour. Moreover, a second alias can be user defined, that can be useful for fixed installations. It could be nice to use them in ardour too. | ||||
| Additional Information | Aliases were implemented in Jack SVN rev1032. 'svn diff -r 1031:1032' displays the alias related work in jack. | ||||
