Summary	0010367: Edit - Sidebar - Clips - Allow for keyboard based navigation
Description	(This is an updated more specific version of a post that I made over a year ago found here 0009908, which I just closed) Edit-Sidebar-Clips The other Sidebar sections such as `Tracks`, `Sources`, `Regions`, etc. all support the ability to receive keyboard navigation based focus by clicking inside them (as long as you keep your mouse cursor within the sidebar) The `Clips` section currently does not allow for keyboard based focus. Suggesting to add this keyboard based focus to make the `Clip` section consistent with the other sidebar sections. BENEFITS I think this section would greatly benefit from this keyboard based focus/navigation. Currently this section only allows for mouse based interaction, requiring LMB clicks on each clip (audio sample) to “preview” them, which is not that efficient/comfortable to have to keep clicking on each of them. Keyboard based focus/navigation would allow user to be able to use ARROW UP/DOWN keys to “preview” clips (audio samples) much more efficiently. Hopefully something like this will be considered Thank you to anyone who reads this
Steps To Reproduce	LIST OF KEYBOARD BASED ACTIONS FOR `CLIPS` SECTION UP/DOWN ARROW = navigate up/down RIGHT ARROW = on folder = expand folder RIGHT ARROW = on file = play that Audio file / MIDI file again from beginning LEFT ARROW = on folder = collapse folder if expanded LEFT ARROW = on file = moves cursor highlight to expanded folder that this file is within PAGEUP/PAGEDOWN = navigate page up/down HOME = cursor to top of list END = cursor to bottom of list ENTER = on folder = opens view into that folder (same action that LMB double click does currently) ENTER = on file = stop currently playing Audio file / MIDI file BACKSPACE = navigate to parent folder ALT+LEFT ARROW = navigate to parent folder ALT+RIGHT ARROW = on folder = open view into that folder ALT+RIGHT ARROW = on file = open view into the folder that that file is in ALT+DOWN = maybe could be open the drop down menu CTRL+F = bring focus to the filter field (if this gets added 0010366)
Additional Information	OTHER POSSIBLE KEYBOARD ACTIONS Would have to decide if any of the following actions would be supported (I think so) These actions would allow users to be able to update their samples as they are going through them, if needed. -Rename -Delete Rename (folder/file) SPACEBAR = this is one of the default keys used already for renaming in the other sidebar sections F2 = this is a common key used for renaming, would consider also adding this as well Delete (folder/file) DELETE = common key used for renaming (would open a popup warning dialog that asks are you sure before sending to recycling bin)
