| Summary | 0010338: Editor - Standard track box width instead of minor adjustments | ||||
| Description | Version: 9.2.689 Nightly Build I noticed that in Editor track boxes, minor width adjustments are made based on the different track types. It appears that this occurs based on the vertical meter sizes used by each track type. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Here are some examples of what I am referring to.... STEPS -Open new session -Create the following tracks Master Audio 1 Audio 2 -If you look a the track box width when these tracks are created, the width of track column does not change. SCENARIO 1 -Add a new MIDI track and pay attention to the track box columns width -You see a slight increase of the track columns width. Which produces a little distracting movement in the GUI. SCENARIO 2 -With the MIDI track you just created, click on the "Record" red circle icon in this track. -You will notice that the vertical meter changes from 3 bars to 1 bar, and when doing so this track width movement occurs again. -Clicking on the "Record" button again adjusts the width again. SCENARIO 3 -If you then remove this MIDI track, you will notice the width of track column will shift again. | ||||
| Additional Information | At least to me, this movement is a little distracting/sickening and is not really needed. The width that is being gained when no MIDI tracks are present is not worth this width adjustment. Suggesting to set a standard track box width, which I think would be the standard width used by MIDI tracks (not showing piano roll graphic) with their 3 vertical meter bars. Hopefully someone agrees Thank You | ||||

Scenario 1 & 3: I don't think these adjustments happen often enough to be considered distracting. The overall layout already changes with the new added track, I'd consider the width adjustment unsignificant in this context. Scenario 2: this one looks odd indeed and would deserve investigating imo (see attached gif). |
