| Description | This is something I still would really want to be added so I decided to make a post for this here. Currently Ardour requires double click action on plugin buttons in Mixer channels to open/close GUI windows. I am aware of CTRL+RMB which is helpful but ideally I am suggesting to add a setting that would allow user the ability to choose to use single click instead for this action. A setting like this I do not believe will require altering any other behavior within Ardour to achieve. User would still be able to perform the same action of selecting a single plugin button by holding CTRL + LMB clicking on it. Also holding down LMB on a plugin button and dragging will still be possible as well. Single click is used by many applications for this action/purpose. Less effort required if need to open/close many plugin windows often. Thank you to anyone who reads this | ||||
| Additional Information | The excuse is said by many that double click is the standard for opening items. This is true but mainly the use case for this is in file managers, which is the action of opening up a file type in an application. Which I prefer as well in this case. However to me a plugin is not a file, but an application window. In this case single click is the common action used. Panel Menus, Panel window buttons, Menu Bars, etc. use single click to launch/toggle windows. Other elements/windows within Ardour itself use single click. Such as toolbar show/hide docks and the different 4 page buttons at the end all use a single mouse click as well. Much more convenient then having to double click each time. | ||||
