| Summary | 0010273: MIDI Step Entry: Chord entry button does not toggle colour as expected. | ||||
| Description | If the keyboard is closed with the chord button on, on next launch it behaves as if the chord button were off, and the colours are reversed. What should happen is that the keyboard always opens with chord entry off (which it does currently), and the chord entry button set to grey (which it doesn't currently). In that case, the toggled colour will be correct. The workaround at present is to always switch off the chord entry button (ie set it to grey) before closing the keyboard. An anciliary issue is that the dotted buttons do not show up as red when they are engaged, so it is difficult to know whether they are on or off. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1. Create a new project. 2. Add a new MIDI track, using General MIDI Synth as the instrument. 3. Right-click the Record button on the track and select Step Entry. 4. The keyboard pops up, and the chord-entry entry button is grey (ie it is not switched on, since red for the note length and volume suggest it would be red if it WAS switched on). 5. Select minim. 6. Play a chord. 7. As expected, the three notes of the chord appear in sequence. 8. Click the chord-entry button to turn it on. the button turns red. 9. Play a chord. 10. As expected, the chord notes appear in a stack. 11. Close the keyboard (and step entry). 12. Right-click the Record button on the track and select Step Entry. 13. The keyboard pops up again, with the chord entry button is red (and therefore looks as if it is turned on). 14. Play a chord. 15. Unexpectedly, the notes are NOT entered as a chord, but as sequential notes. 16. Click the chord-entry button to turn it off. The button turns grey (therefore suggesting that chord entry is off). 17. Play a chord. 18. Unexpectedly, the notes appear as a stacked chord (in spite of the button being off). 19. Press the chord entry button again to turn it red (suggesting it is on). 20. Play a chord. 21. Again, the notes appear in sequence. | ||||
