| Summary | 0010225: Plugin connection windows is transparent for plugins with lot of I/O | ||||
| Description | Hi, Trying to adjust connection of the IEM SimpleDecoder and DistanceCompensator (for bypass the compensator for the sub output), right-click on SimpleDecoder lead a transparent window. I can confirm that the window exist : i can see the resize mouse cursor and right-click on the invisible title bar for closing it. I hope that is not again an issue with wayland... Tested on 9.2 and 9.2.26-dbg | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | - New session - (disable monitor section -> another bug) - add IEM simpledecoder on the master track - try to adjust connection of simpledecoder - phantom window | ||||

The window is wider than the desktop but works here on mate/Xorg. Transparent window sounds like some wayland /window-manager related issue. Ardour cannot make windows transparent |

PS. What is the issue with the monitor section? Can you please elaborate? While it's odd to use master-out with 64 channels (meters require excessive space, etc), it works here I highly recommend to use a dedicated ambisonics bus for various reasons: You are not going to A/PFL monitor 64 channels (on headphones / control booth), but likely have mono sources. So the monitor should remain stereo. Master bus can offer a stereo version for export, or be fed by a binaural mixdown. You can have multiple ambisonics busses with different order (rather than one master). |

About the monitor issue : https://tracker.ardour.org/view.php?id=10224 About the phantom window : It's very strange, i don't see any error in my system log. Have you any tips for find what is broken ? For the buses suggestion : yes it is a bit odd, but i limit my master I/O to the wanted port number (with our "set i/o config" script) and i have patched only the 2 first outputs to my internal soundcard (thanks pipewire). It is for theater, so the non-ambisonic track outs go directly to the mixer via dante network. For where we are in the creation of the show, i don't need other order or binaural export : it will be mostly some sample playing (direct to desk or ambisonic) and maybe DSP for ambisonic on live input. I'll keep in mind the buses way, but it seem to me that my real ardour master is the one that decode ambisonic and send sound to the desk. That can change if ambisonic FX are no so useful. |

After installing XFCE (on the same laptop), i can confirm that all work well with a wayland XFCE. Maybe something strange with gnome ? |
