Summary0010151: Recording audio on Cue page crashes Ardour
DescriptionCue page crashes when recording audio. Typically when recording length is Record Until Stopped, or greater than 16 bars.

Tried recording electric bass through usb audio interface, and recording external audio from Firefox. Adjusted routing as needed for this. Crashed in both scenarios.

Not sure if Stretch needs to be off, but one time the bass did come out sounding like the Stretch was slowing it down (and crashed). That said, this oddity only occurred once with the bass. Did not hear stretching on the external audio, even though I left stretch on the whole time.
Steps To Reproduce1. Open new project
2. Add a Audio track to the Cue Page (mono or stereo doesn't seem to matter)
3. Select a clip slot, and then choose a Record length from the drop-down at the bottom panel.
4. Arm the clip, arm the Cue track (not sure if order matters -- I have armed cue first then the clip before)
4. Click Play
5. Record audio until it crashes.
6. If it does not crash, select an empty slot, increase Record length and record again.
For me it crashed on "Record Until Stopped," and mostly anything 16 bars or greater.
Additional InformationManjaro Linux 612 LTS.

Jack/Pipewire / 1024 samples (Have not tried adjusting Buffer yet)

I tried again using ALSA, and still experienced crashes. Also got another very strange recording of audio where the recording sounded garbled, somehow. First time I thought it was time stretch, but now I am not so sure. If Ardour saved it somewhere, I will try to upload.

I don't know if multiple backtraces will help, but I did another one on rc7. Same scenario. No garbled recording this time, however. Also, when I attempt to use Record Until Stopped, nothing is recorded or saved; and if I record long enough that option crashes as well (same issue in previous rc's as well). It would appear that the "safe zone" for me is 8 bars. Considering what we are dealing with, loops, 8 bars is probably okay for my use case.
