| Summary | 0010082: Ramping the tempo after a BBT does not work / work weird | ||||
| Description | Same bug as 0009690. Ramping the tempo marker on the BBT does not work at all. If you add a tempo change after the BBT sometimes works, sometimes it skips a beat, it is unreliable. Ardour v9.0-rc2-13 2025-12-29. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1. add a BBT marker on measure 2 of a new session 2. add a tempo marker after that (e.g. measure 3, 200 bpm) 3. right-click on the tempo marker of the BBT, choose "ramp to next" 4. the numbers change, the tempo does not (also an extra phantom tempo-line is visible after the second marker, see screenshot attached) | ||||

I can confirm this. Thanks for pointing it out. (I've been stress-testing tempos/bars/BBTs the past day, but for some reason didn't check this! o__o) Paul has been working on tempo-map stuff lately, and will probably continue to iron these out! For the time being (if it's urgent), just ramp only to/from *non-BBT* tempos like so: |

Thank you. 1. it is not urgent—my first report was in summer 2024 ;-) 2. I am having wierd, not easily reproducible artefacts, in the configuration in your screenshot: moving the tempo markers sometimes leaves the markers in the middle of a bar, or between beats, also by editing them I got a "lost beat" (i.e. the metronome went 1, 2, 3, silence, 1, 2, 3, 4). Also the line of the fourth beat was missing. I just tried now (screenshot attached): I placed the markers and the ramps, all good. After moving the markers one bar to the left, the first bar after the BBT (constant tempo) got this double-length 4th beat. (also the metronome is coherent and clicks every grid lines) |

It looks like after moving the markers a couple of times, they stabilise, somehow (not the one on the BBT, though). I'll do without BBT for the time being. |
