Yes, expected behavior. Shift + LMB is the "reset to default" operator. Since Ardour 7.5 there selection acts as if a all selected tracks are in a group (regardless of the explicit group). Ardour 9 adds a preference to opt-out: Prefs > General > Group operations on selected tracks |

x42, no, I believe you are mistaken. I'll try to be succinct... 1. First off, only ONE track (or NO track) was selected during my test (-see the previous .gif). This does not match with the described behavior for the "Group operations on selected tracks" setting (-see next picture). 2. I tried disabling "Group operations on selected tracks", and it did not change the outcome of my test. 3. I just discovered another, related bug: If Relative Gain is 'checked' for a group, even if OVERALL Gain-sharing is NOT active, this "reset to default" operator will reset that track's fader to 0db, and impart relative fader changes to the others in the group (-see the next .gif). Ah you mean inverse group behavior: enabled group is disabled and vice versa. That is also expected, there is a hidden preference for that "group-override-inverts". To disable this add <Option name="group-override-inverts" value="0"/> to .config/ardour9/config |
