Summary0002745: Crash in conjunction with bad window manager behaviour minus dimensions
DescriptionArdour crashed while dragging a window. This is not easy to reproduce.
But my window manager fluxbox saved the dimensions of the mixer somehow as [Dimensions] {-172 958} (in fluxbox' settings). Now everytime (reproducable) Ardour opens up the mixer window, it crashes:

The program 'ardour-2.8' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 78406 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I solved it through deleting the remembered dimensions in fluxbox.
Still, Ardour crashes when fluxbox resp. X tries to do weired things with the window. MAybe its not just not just the fault of Fluxbox or X, so I'm reporting this as an Ardour bug. If this can be traced back to fluxbox or X only, you can close this report, and I'm sorry for bothering you.
