Summary0002613: "maximize window" does not work on Gnome
DescriptionWhen the screen width is =< 1280 pixels, "maximize window" does not work on Gnome. It works in KDE. Moreover, ardour's main window cannot be shrunk under 1280 pixels in width. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature. But users, who have a side-bar must have a screen resolution of ~1320xheight or more to see the whole ardour window. Isn't that too big?

Applies to ardour 2.6.1, 2.7.1 and 2.8 at least.

I have the same problem when I run ardour with russian interface. But if I run it with english interface, even on my netbook (1024x600), it almost fits horisontally (it has few pixels more). Then it is usable under gnome. The problem that is doesn't fit vertically if I enable track fader with shift-E.
So the problem is most likely with your localization.

"Edit -> Preferences -> Misc -> Font scaling"

By using that slider I was able to fit ardour in much smaller screen widths.

I couldn't find a way to close this bug. How do I do it?
