| Description | I tried to add two tracks to my session, after adding lots of other tracks (over 10, less than 20). When I tried I got this error: [ERROR]: IO: cannot register input port Audio 1/in 1 [ERROR]: cannot configure 1 in/2 out configuration for new audio track [ERROR]: could only create 0 of 2 new audio tracks Then I tried to add just one track, getting this error message: [ERROR]: IO: cannot register input port Audio 1/in 1 [ERROR]: cannot configure 1 in/2 out configuration for new audio track [ERROR]: could not create a new audio track This is with ardour 2.7 (not available in mantis product version options) on Mandriva 2007.0. | ||||

I found something very interesting to me. I experienced bug 0001409 before hitting this one. I did my workaround steps for that bug, and it's error messages went away. Then I tried to add tracks to this session. Surprisingly, I am now able to add tracks to this session again. I wouldn't know whether these are truly related. But, both problems seem to be gone now. Question, you mentioned in the other bug that you upped the port count, did you do so again here? Are you able to reproduce this bug still on 2.7? Wasn't quite sure whether you haven't been able to reproduce it or not. And just copying the two files from before made you able to add more ports? I assume this is on Linux? If you are able to reproduce it, can you post up your jack settings as well as your session file? Thanks. Seablade |

Resolved as I believe this is an issue with Jack settings (Maximum Port Count in particular) and it has been months without feedback. |
