Summary0001860: Ability to reload session or single audio files
DescriptionFor cutting multiple tracks simultaneously, I usually cut only the first track, copy the audio file of the current track and rename the file of the next track to the first filename (cutting ~5 long files simultaneously into hundreds of pieces makes Ardour somehow unstable). Now I want to reload the session so that the new file is cut the right way and can be bounced. At the moment, this is only possible by closing ardour and re-opening the session, so there should be a way to reload audio files without closing the session.

A slightly more elegant way would be an option to select a different source file, so all regions using a given file would be reloaded with the other file as source.

I think it would help if rather than suggesting a solution you provide a more detailed overview of what you are attempting to accomplish and the problems you've faced doing it. Copying and renaming audio files inside an ardour session is not part of the recommended way of using this application ...

I found this page exactly because I need to reload a wav file that I have been modifying it in an external app. I second the motion, and if I had any money I'd sponsor it. .

the last comment on this bug was from a decade ago, and contained this:

"... it would help if rather than suggesting a solution you provide a more detailed overview of what you are attempting to accomplish and the problems you've faced doing it."

so if you second the decade-old motion, how about doing what was asked back then?
