Summary0000124: Soloing tracks with complex routing
DescriptionI have four drum tracks mapped to a stereo bus. This bus
is mapped to a stereo final mix along with other non-drum
tracks. If I solo a drum track, I will hear that track
along any other track not routed thru the drum submix.
Shouldn't it solo everything? beta7

hmm. not sure i quite understand. first, i know that solo does not propagate. if you solo the drum track but not the bus or final mix, you shouldn't be able to hear it. ardour has no control outs right now - if it did, you'd hear it in the control outs.

but i don't understand why you think it should solo "everything". can you clarify?

finally, i'll have to check my first paragraph, because i have some sense that this might have been altered several months ago.

So you are saying I need to solo at each 'layer' of routing. This makes
a *lot* of sense now. Will try it again soon.

However, your first paragraph does not describe what I hear. Soloing the
drum track without soloing any busses results in correct (imo) soloing for
the submix only.

After a little more playing around I'm satisfied by the current behaviour.
